Makita LS1214FL 15 Amp 12-Inch Dual Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw with Laser and Fluorescent Light

. Hello, this is a PRO and I saw a former carpenter all stages. I used many of these saws Makita by different employers and have also heard some .. Bang for the buck here, and I saw that it is very easy to use for the weekend warrior who is working to restructure or wood-intensive projects. The balance is sweet and you can stop the precision of your work with him, the feeling of 1 / 64 "for work or cabinet is not difficult to hit the target when your eyes are the exact …… This is the beginning of the line andThere are more expensive machines out there, but do not hold a candle to this model, the Makita. I purchased in February 2008 to steal here on Amazon, do not know if there is an error or a volume, which I bought, but difficult to use search engines for a month ….. The reason why I have a new, and the one I have now, I thought it would take me the rest of my life and I also bought a new house in the country, and all my old building had no trim, fascia and Caps corner, and I think MakitaTrim any dependencies …. I have such sweet looking, I have more than 1,000 linear feet in two days. To increase this visa can be considered a "chop saw bench, I found a light portable, foldable wheels that weigh 50 pounds with a wheel support roller and a table open deck of the 119" material for their support. I have taken a well-known auction for my portable table saw and reached for 135 Bux ….. I checked the bus stop on the degree of locks and cut it in mind thatwith a laser measurement device and the factory for quick cuts keep coming back together in less than half a degree …
. BUY reached, you will not regret!

This saw has lived up to all my expectations – Dr. Codini – west virginia
I bought the saw in '04 and immediately started to beat. It came with flying colors. I have in detail for the construction of my station, and the width / workshops bales of straw. It 'like a true champion made it even survived the abuse stopped by my collaborators. Saw a minor, they will throw in the towel and come home crying like a schoolgirl. The Makita has a saw hard.
Seems high quality – Jason Theriot – Houston, Tx
After watching all the dual-bevel sliding compound miter saws and their evaluations of these seemed to be a better quality at a reasonable price. After receiving the inspection, I saw that it is safe to say that I believe is a superior quality felt like I checked the box stores. The laser is applied directly and can be changed on the right or left in less than 2 seconds.
Makita LS1214FL 15 Amp 12-Inch Dual Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw with Laser and Fluorescent Light – Fred L. Walterreit –
This visa is great. If you cut the connection is a must have. The interior is simple, fast, and makes adjustments for laser cutting as well. I love this saw.
An Amazing Saw & USA Made – J. McDonald – Texas
I was pretty nervous to spend so much on a saw. After the installation of crown, base, chair rail and throughout our house square in 2500 had, I do not mind what so ever. I was able to complete the whole project in 1 day, without which it would have looked much longer. This visa is the best there is. E 'in the United States, is an added bonus, but it helps me to understand why the quality is so great. I recommend to anyone in the market. Confidence in me to spend the extra to get a good quality as thisone.

Makita LS1040 10-Inch Compound Miter saw

Some years ago I worked in the trade of a coach company custom construction. We had about 12 of these 10 "Makita saws and saws a few great slides of different brands. We cut all day and moldings produced from wood cabinets assemble, and never had a difficulty lick. Out on the main line have also used the saw same with a profile of aluminum carbide blade for cutting vehicle bodies.
When he finally started to wear (after about 5 years of 10 hours of workLayers of management) and replaced them with saws delta low cost, which are not, where almost as hard.
I've used in the lumber business for several years and saw all the major manufacturers. If I were to buy a small miter saw, the Makita was probably my first choice.

Overview
A favorite on job sites, Makita’s 10-inch compound miter saw has a highly dedicated following. Even though it’s extremely portable (at 24.2 pounds), Makita’s saw also boasts a super sturdy dual-post pivoting arm. A pivot fence adjusts for supporting large stock and flips back for bevel cuts. The saw bevels left up to 45 degrees and miters 45 degrees left and up to 52 degrees right. There’s no lack of power here, either: a 15 amp motor spins the blade, plus there’s an electric brake that saves you time between cuts. There’s also a shaft lock that makes changing blades quick and easy. The miter has a smooth-action swivel, but the lock is of the older screw-handle design that’s a little more time-consuming than the newer (and more expensive) cam-lock designs. This Makita also lacks a soft-start mechanism, so it does jump a bit when the motor first engages; some users swear by a soft start, but we think a saw can still be a high-quality saw without one. Makita’s saw has a vertical grip design with a thumb-activated safety switch and a paddle trigger, and while the vertical design might be slightly less ergonomic than the horizontal D-handle, it does allow you to use the saw comfortably with either hand. And the paddle grip makes squeezing the trigger easy no matter how you’re holding the handle. Our verdict: it’s a solid saw. — Jon Groebner
Choosing a Miter Saw
Miter saws are versatile tools that have become a mainstay of workshops everywhere. These powerful saws make angled cuts by pulling a circular blade down onto a workpiece with a short, controlled plunge. It might appear that miter saws are infinitely complex and varied, but there are only three general types. The type you choose will depend on your woodworking needs.
Basic Miter Saws
Basic miter saws are the least versatile off the three major variations, but they’re a great starting point for novice do-it-yourselfers. These models typically adjust for miter cuts only, so consider upgrading if you need to do more than that.
Compound miter saws are easier to use than basic miter saws because you can place your stock flat for cutting, and they adjust simultaneously for miter and bevel cuts. A compound miter saw is great for jobs that feature stock that’s not very tall or wide, such as door and window trim or picture frames.
Sliding Compound Miter Saws
Sliding compound miter saws are the most versatile of the available models. They have a motor and blade assembly that’s mounted on a moveable arm to accommodate longer, wider workpieces. For smaller pieces, the saw performs like an ordinary fixed-head model. On some models, the blade can only pivot in one direction, but on a dual sliding compound miter saw, the blade can tilt to the right or left.
Important Features at a Glance
Though models will vary by manufacturer and design, these are a few of the more commonly found features that you might want to keep in mind.
- Electric brake: Reverses the flow of electricity when the saw’s trigger is released. This is an important safety feature that slows the blade quickly in case of emergency.
- Blade guard: Most miter saws have self-retracting guards that withdraw when the saw is lowered for use, and reappear when it is raised.
- Laser guide: Gives a precise visual line where the cut will occur on your workpiece.
- Dust bag: Helps collect sawdust for a clearer, more tidy cutting area.
- Shaft lock: Immobilizes the shaft and blade for quicker, easier blade changes.
- Table extensions: Mount on either side of the saw to help balance longer workpieces.
Miter Saw Blades
Miter saw blades come in a variety of different sizes, grades, and materials, but there are three main types: steel, high-speed steel, and carbide-tipped blades.
- Steel: Inexpensive and good for cutting soft woods or plywoods. Sharpness diminishes quickly in tougher materials.
- High-Speed Steel: More rugged than steel blades, and great for cutting harder woods.
- Carbide-Tipped: More expensive than other blades but much more durable. Maintain sharpness over a longer period.
Feature
- Features powerful 15 amp motor and dual post compound pivoting arm
- Provides a large capability with cuts 52 degrees right and 47 degrees left with 9 positive stops at 15, 22-1/2, 30, 45 degrees left or right and 0 degrees
- Durably designed with a machined aluminum base, dual aluminum base, dual slide rails and a carbide tip blade
- Saw includes vertical vise, blade, wrench, triangular rule and 2 extension wings
- Covered by 1-Year warranty

needs work – Ruby James – bay area
Who looked out of the box, cut a 2×6 at 90 degrees OR BEVEL 2X6 A at 90 degrees. Some of filing of the fence up, I saw, to cut deeper and a 2×6 at 90 degrees to 90 degrees. Cannot at 45 degrees to 90 degrees was impossible. Gruard the blade, walnuts, etc. prevents the penetration of the blade all the way through the forest. Otherwise, a machine is light and durable. It puzzles me why it would be a Makita 10 "saw with a 15 amp motor, can not be cut2×6.Not sliding – Michael Gonzalez –
I would have bought a chop saw, saw instead of an envelope. They are particularly useful for cutting plywood etc.Ho Hum, just another solid product from Makita! – Warren W. Wiley – Ottertail
Let me be brief: this is the miter saw 95% of us need. You can buy bigger, smarter, stronger saws with advanced features, but all you really need, unless it has full-time Pro not trim and molding, etc. all day.
Performed a liitle "kick", but if you make the cut, it is so fast and so clean that you forgot. Actually …. I like to start promoting this small!
This will is an instrument well made, well designed and looks like a time. If you're likeMy other Makita'm sure it will.Special offer at Amazon Check Price Now!

Makita LS1013 Dual Slide Compound 10-inch Miter Saw Kit

I purchased this saw 8 years ago to do a few deck jobs. Not only was it great for doing the decks, it is also an excellent saw for doing finish work! Never before have I been able to do near perfect finish work until I got this saw. I’m now on my 4th carbide blade, and this saw still works flawlessly. Unlike my DeWalt circular saw, where the saw brake no longer works, the brake on this saw still work perfectly even after 8 years of use, and yes I have to admit abuse too. If you are looking for the perfect saw that can do rough work the beginning of the week, and one to do finish work the end of the week, this IS the saw you want. Yes I’ve used some of the other BIG brands, but they don’t compare in the ease of use of this MAKITA Dual Slide Compound Saw. If something ever happened to this saw, I definitely would buy it again!

Overview
Riding on a horizontal double-rail system, Makita’s 10-inch dual sliding compound miter saw is one smooth operator. Both rails are self-cleaning and sli de on linear ball bearings. The horizontal rail design also seems to give this s aw some extra stability, a feature we appreciate, especially in a saw that bevel s to 45 degrees both ways. Makita’s saw has a vertical grip design with a thumb- activated safety switch and a paddle trigger, and while the vertical design migh t be slightly less ergonomic than the horizontal D-handle, it does allow you to use the saw comfortably with either hand. Plus, the paddle grip makes squeezing the trigger easy no matter how you’re holding the handle.
The saw crosscuts a two-by-twelve at 90 degrees and also has the depth capacity to cut four-by-four material–a feature deck builders, in particular, demand. Th e saw’s table is large, too, giving you plenty of workspace for making wider cro sscuts. The saw’s nine positive stops make it easy to lock in common miters. The miter lock on this saw has a screw handle that is a little more time-consuming than recently popular cam-lock design. We really like the soft start and electri c brake, however; they’re user-friendly features that make a big difference, esp ecially when a job requires a lot of constant, repetitive cuts. The pivot fence adjusts for supporting large stock and flips back for bevel cuts. The saw also h as a well-designed work clamp that lets you make precision cuts on small pieces without having to get your fingers too close to the blade. Like most sliders, th is saw features a depth-stop mechanism in case you have to make a few quick dado cuts on a job site. And, for home shop users, this saw also gives you the added option of a release safety button that pulls out and locks the saw off. –Jon Groebner

I have had this saw for about 6 years now and I wouldn’t give it up! I have used the heck out of it and it is still as precise as it was the first day. Once you fine tune the fence to cut perfect 90 degree angles, you’re all set. I also like the cross cutting capacity. It allows me to cut boards up to 12″ wide on 90 degrees.Awesome for Victorian trim work – Mark Waldo – Philadelphia
I ran all over San Francisco with this saw doing mainly trim work in Victorians for several years. I knocked out a lot of crown moldings, stair rails and base boards with this saw. I love it. It also did a great job of slamming out basic chop cuts in PT when I had to hang decks off the back of the same houses.chop saws – F. Daily – nantucket mass
This and the bosch are the only two saws worth considering for any type of finish work. The upfront controls of the bosch make it my favorite site saw, but the large table, lower price and less need for the quick bevel adjustments make the makita perfect for my shop. Hitachi saws are great for exterior trim and framing due to their light weight, but don’t have the features that make the difference in trim work. (not to mention the fact that i cannot stand the noise they make) Dewalts are good saws, but also lack some features. These are the only saws worth considering; 1 Bosch. 2 makita. 3 DeWalt. 4 Hitachi (unless you are totally loaded then go for the festool kapex!)Special offer at Amazon Check Price Now!

. Hi, this is a PRO SAW and I am a retired all phase carpenter. I have used many of these Makita saws by various employers and have owned a few also.. The bang for the buck is here and this saw is very user friendly for the weekend warrior that has intense remodel or wood working projects. The balance is sweet and you can feel the precision as your work with it, 1/64″ for finish or cabinet work is not hard to hit the mark if your eyes are that accurate…… This is the top of the line and there are more expensive machines out there but the don’t hold a candle to this model of Makita. I bought mine Feb 2008 at a steal here at Amazon, don’t know if it was a pricing error or what but I shopped hard using search engines for a month….. The reason I got one more new one, and the only one I own now is I figured it would last me the rest of my life and I also purchased a new home in the country and all of my older out buildings had no trim, fascia or corner caps and I used my Makita to trim out every outbuilding I own…. Such a sweet saw I did over 1,000 linear feet in two days. To enhance this saw you may consider purchasing a chop saw bench, I found a transportable light weight wheeled collapsible one that weights 50 pounds with a single roller wheel and an open bridged support table of 119″ for material support. I used a well known auction outlet for my portable saw table and scored that for 135 bux….. I have checked the stop locks on the degree of cut and doing that with a laser gauge and the factory quick locks for common cuts has repeatedly come in less that one half of a degree…
. BUY THIS SAW, you WON’T REGRET IT !

This saw has lived up to all my expectations – Dr. Codini – west virginia
I bought this saw in ‘04 and immediately started flogging it. It came through with flying colors. I used it extensively in the construction of my post and beam/strawbale workshop. It has performed like a true champion, it even survived abuse by my hired helpers. A lesser saw would have thrown in the towel and gone home sobbing like a school girl. The Makita is one tough saw.
Seems high quality – Jason Theriot – Houston, Tx
After looking over all dual bevel compound sliding miter saws and their reviews this one seemed to be a better quality at a decent price. After receiving the saw and inspecting it I can say for sure that I believe it really is a higher quality saw than the ones I inspected at the big box stores. The laser is right on and can be changed to the right or left side in less than 2 seconds.

This saw is great. If you do compound cutting this is a must have item. Set up is easy, adjustments are quick and the laser makes cutting so accurate. I love this saw.
An Amazing Saw & USA Made – J. McDonald – Texas
I was quite nervous spending this much on a saw. After installing crown, base, and chair rail in our whole 2,500 sq ft house, I have no regrets what so ever. I was able to complete the whole project in 1 day, w/o this saw it would of been much longer. This saw is the best there is. It’s made in the USA which is an added bonus, however helps me understand why the quality is so great. Would recommend to anyone in the market. Trust me, spend the extra to get a good quality saw such as this one.

Makita LS0714 Quad 10 Amp 7-1/2-Inch Sliding Compound Miter saw

This saw has Displaced my 12″ DW 718. WHY?
28 Lbs
28 Lbs
28 Lbs
that is the magic #
along with 2 x 12 cap
1/2 the dust created 1/16 dia blade only makes 1/2 the dust to begin with and almost complete collection when hooked to a vac.
The smoothest miter angle table of any saw EVER.
super easy to carry one handed,
Dead on accurate (the smaller the blade the less deflection).
The only concerns was it does not come with lock notch for the travel position, I speculate that this is so you don’t lock it at 59 rather than 45
Also you must cut larger base and crown on the flat, for base this is almost easier once you use it a time or 2. the instructions come with a chart for setting crown on the flat for all angle 0-180.
As a professional remodeler who doesn’t cut crown often this is the best take along saw you can buy, and it will be the only saw you use 97% of the time. so buy it and barrow your buddies behemoth on the rare occasion you need a bigger blade.

best finish saw period – C. Behlke –
Small, light, incredibly clean cuts. I had to adjust my bevel stops out of the box, but the small blade and a 6″ engineer’s square made it a snap. Smooth action and portable size have made it essential, my 10″ sits at home while this one travels job to job. As a finish guy I rarely need to cut anything over 2″ thick, I cut mouldings on the flat. This saw is perfect, you’re crazy to consider anything else. Do yourself a favor if you buy this, build a small table with stock supports around 8″ deep, the small supports on the saw allow wide material to roll off post cut.
Extremely light and compact but powerful! – Ken Horn –
This has become a very big part of my work, I have the Makita 12″ compound but found that this is great for doing misc pick up work or smaller jobs when taking out the big dog is too much. It’s really nice when you need to move alot from room to room as well as up and down stairs.
Cutting smaller trim on it is alot more comfortable as well compared to the 12″. This saw has plenty of power, nice brake system and is actually nice to have side by side on the job with the other saws so you don’t need to keep changing one saws angle all the time. It’s just plain convenient to own!
An excellent saw for precise cutting – V. Rokhlenko – NJ, USA
This saw gives you cuts as smooth as glass in oak, pine and hard maple with almost no tearout on the bottom side. Since it has only 2″ of vertical capacity I believe that its primary usage is in cabinet making. At least that is how I am using it. Its sliding mechanism is extremely smooth with no play. It gives you cuts up to 12″ wide which are perfectly straight with no ‘climbing’ effect. Out of the box the blade was square to the table and the fence. I think that a table could have been a bit larger but my saw is mounted on a stand so it is a non-issue for me. Another possible detraction is that nobody(?) but Makita makes blades in 7-1/2″ size but thus far the supplied blade proved (about 25 bucks if purchased separately) to be very good. Makita also could have provided two clamps for each side of the blade instead of just one. But I have yet to find a perfect tool…
