I am a general contractor and have many power tools. All Makita power tools have over the years including state-of-the-art and of excellent quality.
Miter saws I have a lot of quality in the last 30 years by any manufacturer, Delta, Bosch, Hitachi, Makita, etc., and some had
I had 2 or 3 of the old LS1013s Makita circular saws compound miter and were satisfied with their quality, even if I do not use them for crown molding. I used the 12 "Dewalt and 12" MakitaCompound miter saw for the crown.
The review of LS1016L, I realized that the LS1013 was not a good design to everyone for the crown molding. All changes from the table and the crown stops for 90 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! The degree bevel cuts LS1013 work in one direction, and the back-stop fences are too low for the crown.
The new LS1016L exceeds all old LS1013s soon to come. I think it's by far the best, or miter saw that I have ever heard. It's all good.
<br/> The only downside of this product is the weight. It 'a little' difficult, but still lighter than any other.

Wobbly blade, poor flimsy fence design – David A. Smith – Seattle, WA
Do not buy this view, there are better alternatives. The first I had a lot of wobble in the blade. 2. was better, but still a bit '. My apprentice cut a piece of 2×4 blocks, and it was a good overview on the piece. (My school is not bad, better for him.) The plant came up and hit the wall and broke it. The saw is useless without the fence. Examination showed that the fence is connected to the party that runs the length of two very thin and shortMetal casting. Apparently the quality of metal is questionable, Chinese, since it broke without much effort. He reluctantly agreed to resolve this problem under warranty, but the visa is in the shop for about a month, because it can be re-ordered the part. I suspect that this is a chronic problem with the saw and have parties.
The visa did not come either for the truth or accuracy of calibrated miter vertical. I'm not sure if the reason for the presentation of two phases, perhaps yields morecompact, but may give a slight confusion. Engine performance is good, the laser works quite well and is useful for times viewed. I would choose another brand for that price.

I am a carpenter who was recently purchased at Home Depot. Thought of going on a limb and try to be impressed by this new model in hope.
Unfortunately, I am depressed. After the owners saw for 3 days I had come to cut a piece of ash and dismantling skirting finished back

Overall I would say that would not, in my opinion for the hard-working no-nonsense manufacturers are marketed, in search of efficiency / reliability / precision. I would recommend to stick with the other models Makita or Hitachi C10FSH really great. The other models are tried, true solidSaws. For $ 550 I think, hands down, you can do better.
